Anyone in the Michigan/Ohio/Indiana/Kentucky area that would like to travel as a group down I-75 and onward? We had a group of 4 cars last year and it made the drive down a lot less boring! We'll meet up at the first rest stop in Kentucky just past Florence (just before I-71 splits off) around 10am and continue on as a group from there.

I'm leaving Fort Wayne hopefully around 6am which should put us at the rest area around 10. I think I met you last year. I was at the San-Ran Thursday night with my brother and left Friday. I drive a Marble White NC and he has a Rust (Copper Red) NC. I'm registered at the San-Ran again for Thursday night and have a cabin reserved somewhere in the area for Friday & Sat. nights.

Hope to see you Thursday morning if we are not running late.

Jim

Good to have you on board, Jim! I was beginning to wonder if anyone was going to want to meet up here... I'll probably make the rest stop by 10am, if nobody arrives by 1030 I'll be on my way... Also, if you (or anyone else) have FRS radio, monitor channel 7-0 to keep in touch.

Bryan? Johnny? You guys in on this again this year?

I'll bring my radio but what is channel 7-0? I have 1 through 22. We should not be any later than 10:30.

Most FRS radios have "privacy" sub-channels (7-0, 7-1, 7-2 etc.) Check your owners manual to see if you have that feature, if not, channel 7 should work just fine.

Leaving Columbus at approximately 8am, or maybe 7:45... This puts me at the rest stop at just about 10am.

Ok cool. It adds about 60 miles to our drive going that way but its always fun to have a caravan. If nobody expresses interest in the faster 79-77-81 route then we'll probably meet up with you.

I think we are going to try to meet up with you somewhere on I70/270/71 near Columbus James.

I'll be taking 71 south directly out of Columbus. If you can, find me on 71 between Columbus and Cincinnati... If not, we'll meet up at the Kentucky rest stop.

Cool, Bob! See ya there!

Just to clarify all details so we know everyone's on the same page:
Thursday July 22, 10:00AM meetup, leaving by 10:30AM, I-71/I-75 rest stop just south of Florence, KY (first one in KY, before I-71 splits off), FRS ch. 7-0

James,

I cannot make it this year and Bob was going to stay with me. I will catch you next year. I hate to miss such a good time...but I have been under the weather. I do not think the heat will treat me too well this weekend.
